I changed the transfer case fluid on the vehicle .. I am not able to reset the VTG calibration in ISTA.. or Foxwell scanner, or launch scanner... All of them say PAD mode not active when the dash clearly said diagnostic mode active after hitting the start button 3x. Did BMW lock out the service function?

Assuming you aren't having any issues with your config and the car is reading fine otherwise this would be strange, does it show all the other conditions are met. ?

Make sure your battery voltage is adequate. I've had ISTA do fail in weird without proper voltage
