2021 M50 here (pre-facelift), using a VeePeak OBDCheck BLE which I bought back in 2019, so it is an older unit. First time using it on my G05. I am getting the following message on the Bimmer Code app:

"This control unit is not accessible with the used OBD adapter. For further information please visit our website".

Looking at the VeePeak site, they no longer market my model, so perhaps it is as simple as getting a new one. They do guide you to a specific model for the G and F series BMW's.

Bimmercode lists lots of compatible models on their site.

My question to you all is, which OBD Bluetooth adapter are you using, that allows successful programming with Bimmercode?

Thanks!

I have the OBDLink CX, which is a Bimmercode compatible unit. I've only used it twice on my X7, but it worked fine. I also used it on my Jeep Rubicon (with a Jeep app) to activate an aftermarket backup camera, and it worked fine on it also.

I first used the CX (bluetooth) but switched to MHD (wifi) because it’s faster

The Bimmercode app’s website (which you linked in your original post) lists all of the Bluetooth OBD adapters that will work with the G chassis…and also if you’re using IOS, Android, or desktop.

Each adapter listed also reveals which platform it will work with. All of them listed work…so it really doesn’t matter which Bluetooth adapter you select, as long as it lists the G chassis.

If you want to use another connection other than bluetooth…then that’s a different question. :D

Why go wired, just asking?

WAY faster and a 100% robust connection to help prevent bricking your $100k car.

Follow up on my purchase.....

The BM3 adapter is MUCH faster than my VeePeak. So far, so good.
