I recently installed some OEM CF parts and wanted to get the air inlet ducts and sideview mirrors PPF'ed. The shop that did the PPF on my front end said that it's possible that the coating/clear can come off if ever needing to remove or replace the PPF down the road. Has anyone experienced this before?

option on my car is wrapped with PPF.
My installer has done hundreds of these.
No issue with removal or replacement.
easbaysav wroteUnless the clear didn't fully cure before applying PPF, it could be an issue. I think the time frame is about a month before applying PPF if you had a respray or anything like that.Is there anything to worry about in the long term when installing PPF on carbon fiber parts?

But most of the time, shouldn't have an issue.

Same here...jus insure all application surfaces are properly prepped & cured.
jg4c wroteThanks for the input. Spoke to another shop and they said the same thing. From the talk I had with the owner, he takes pride in his work and is super meticulous with his work with some videos he showed me. Going to get it done next week.Nope. No issues. The full exterior carbon

N1rve wroteAppreciate the input. My main concern was with PPF on carbon fiber as the shop told me they've experienced some clear pulling off on some CF they've worked on in the past, but that all depends on the quality of the CF. I'm gonna go ahead and give it a shot.Unless the clear didn't fully cure before applying PPF, it could be an issue.
