Looking at a used X5 to purchase that has Aluminum Dark Mesh trim. Does this conduct heat, does it heat up, can it be hot to the touch? I live in the desert in Phoenix Arizona, the cab in a vehicle can reach above 150 degrees "often", and if a car has exposed metal inside a cab in the front seating area, that isn't good, LOL! Thank you for your input.

Damn, would have never thought about that. Very good question.

Yeah, I was curious if the naming convention using "Aluminum" is just to indicate the appearance only, that type of impression OR is it actually the metal aluminum. We'll see what others share, on the web I have seen it as just that a metal and it is hot, but I want advice from our core peeps! Thank you for your input!

Auminum conducts heat at about 5 times the rate of many other metals.
The trim panels are relatively thin but could still probably give a decent jolt to bare skin if the cars interior is 150 degrees or more.

Yes that's what I have understood as well. Fortunately there isn't a lot of trim but the center console is the real issue, that's area that you touch often and though heat in aluminum dissipates fairly quickly, its the early onset that my wife is concerned about, and heating up the vehicle form the inside during the summer heat. Thank you for the input much appreciated! :o)
