I got prompt for scheduling a service from a dealer.

Service at 4th year (according to dealers) calls for:

Oil change, $119
cabin filter change, $179
air filter change, $85

Looking at this price, I schedule oil change only. Because DIY will cost me $100. They offer a loaner for this, which I am surprised. For cabin and air, I will do it at home.

I'm doing the same thing when I get back to CO. Debating whether to DIY the oil change and do the t-case and diffs at the same time. (60K on the vehicle). I'll at least see what the dealer wants for all three.

The cabin filter pricing is crazy in these things. They must be filtering the air through a stack of $20s.

I just look up FCP

- oil change kids, oil + filter, $80
- cabin filter by Hengst (OE), $24
- air filter by mann(OE), $26.

I am not even sure $119 oil change at dealer is worth the trouble anymore. DIY will take less time than going to dealer, drop car off and wait for loaner.

DIY the oil change for free minus return shipping from FCP. Mine generally cost $20 when all said and done.

I have never tried to ship oil back to FCP, kind of feel taking advantage of FCP. But even at $80, and free shipping, once every 5K or a year, I am super happy.

Forgive me: What/who is FCP?

they offer life time exchange for parts, including oil and filter. But it take the 2nd order to get credit for the 1st order, if that make sense

Could someone please post a link to the cabin and air filter parts?

Also, a link to instructions or a YouTube video on how to change these would be great.

Thanks!

You make a very good point here.

The $119 dealer special is ideal for those of us that WFH and use a dealer that offers pickup/dropoff service. I don't even want to go through the effort to pop the hood for $119.

I searched around for a good dealer alternative once I passed the 4-yr mark. They beat dealer pricing for the oil change and filters by about 30%. In fact, they told me I didn't even need the filters yet.

“They” means FCP?

Filter is cheap and is the easy part of oil change. I would just change it while I am at it.
