rx867 wroteMore evolution of 6/8 series, not so much the 4 series. If a production car comes of this concept, the price tag will be well beyond that of where the 4 series sits in the market. There’s rumours that there is nothing set to replace the 4 Series so a vehicle of this stature that looks very similar to the current 4 Series would make sense
NGT2 wroteNo I agree, a mid-level vehicle like the 4 series is great especially as other companies- including BMW, are dropping their more traditional cars. For example, the lack of an entry level convertible now is very upsetting as one would look great with the 2 Coupe’s design language.rx867 wroteMore evolution of 6/8 series, not so much the 4 series. If this ain’t a design-theme teaser / tester for the 4-series coupe I’ll be highly surprised.
Not to say it’ll look identical, obvi, but thematically.
Turbanator wroteWell that’s what I myself meant anyways. Not sure why all the references to the 4 series. This is an Alpina branded concept that BMW even says is based on the 7-series (not even the 5 like previous 6/8-series have been). Maybe there will be vague styling cues taken from this on the next 4er (if there is one), but this to me screams new 8 series, the question being more if this would be a traditional BMW 8-series as well or exclusively an Alpina model.
I can’t see them doing big coupes again anytime soon, especially in this economy.
The 8 is dead so they’re not gonna revive it just for a production version of this.
That leaves the next best thing - them taking some styling cues & themes to the (late, but) incoming i4/4 series
I still hate the NK interior and the rhombus screen and I dont think that is gonna change. This thing with some real gauges and buttons would be cool AF.
And for goodness sake, the Tesla approach to controls is just too much. I thought we'd learned our lesson there too. Need some freakin buttons for HVAC and radio! Yikes.

They are still milking the G15 like they did with the Concept Skytop.
They're dumming down regular bmw design to make space for more expensive tier -- Alpina
BMW is now making sub par designs
M begs to be adopted by Alpina
This is probably not the production version.
MJBO wroteThere won’t be another 4 Series. It’s been over two years since the LCI was unveiled. By now, next-generation 4 Series mules would already be on the road. Perhaps that’s why they extended production by a year, but they might just as well shorten production by a year and phase it out entirely. The 8 Series also didn’t have any running mules two years after the LCI’s debut. This won’t sit anywhere near the 4-series.
Current info has G22/23/82/83 running till mid-2029 so still plenty of time for a replacement to come to light, should one be planned.
