I ended up deciding to try out the local auto parts store, since the pads were in stock and decent priced. Sure, these pads don't have a fancy name/brand, but surprisingly they are great so far. I've got about 2000 miles so far. No noise, and very little dust, that easily comes off going thru a normal automatic car wash. And I'd say the performance is close to oem semi mettalic.
I have a 40i, with the 18" front discs, which seem to be the most common.
