10 sheets (so far) of T1-11 siding. Some of the siding on our house is looking rough, but a full vinyl residing estimate came in at $25-30k. The contractor doing this repair work estimates around $10k with a full house repaint when the siding is done. I like the wood siding better anyway, so it was an easy choice. Crappy cell phone pic.

Mark the answer to your question is Hardy Board.
First and only time I got to play with the stuff we where sub'd to reside a moderate 2 story apt complex. We went by how we where told to install it, you leave a larger gap between splices than I would have thought then come back and silicon all the joints. But far as ease of install, it was really easy. Just a chopsaw with a diamond blade.

I picked this up not expecting too much from my local ACE Hardware. It worked wonders on my Napoleon Grill. And it was only $10!

I added a couple to the collection, I think the Laguiole is a beautiful piece and the Chaparral is unique in Birds Eye Maple.

Tie wraps. Not your everyday tie wraps. I went deluxe and got the
indoor/outdoor versions.

Almost there. New siding and trim where the old pieces were sun damaged or suffering rot. Around and above the garage, up on the side of the chimney, and some around the back. Once the contractor is done with the repairs, the whole house gets repainted.

Today the contractor removed a section of siding around the chimney and found termites. Ugh. He also discovered a section of flashing with huge holes in it. Ca-ching!! :sigh:

Sorry to hear, but better to find it now rather than later, when it would probably be worse.

Agreed, especially since I learned our homeowner's insurance does not cover termite damage. Could have been a pricey problem down the road.

I had termites in one small section of the house 10 years ago. Was found by my painter. Happy it was found then (like you) because it would've been worse and more expensive if left undiscovered.

Lucky us...

Happy birthday to me. Now I need to demonstrate a little discipline on this hobby, starting...now.

E65 front brakes need renewing as rotors are worn. I found 760i front calipers very cheap so I bought them and upgrading front brakes. Gotta clean them and paint silver.

324x30 -> 374x36.
