Very impressive collection, if it were real. Alas, all fakes. And pretty crappy ones at that. But, good on you for trying to pass them off as real...
Aha! I knew there was something different about the watches in the pic. Also my same thoughts to the $40 crappy box. You sir have a keen eye!

Its pretty sad collecting fake watches but at least get a decent box to pass them off as real.

I was fortunate to develop a love for fine watches and BMWs that has been shared with my wife...so 'kitchen pass' achieved! Currently run 4 watches with 4 BMWs...Imma lucky man!

Currently run mostly Breitlings (1995 Aerospace, 2010 Airwolf Custom face, & 2008 18kt/SS Navitimer) with a special 10-year wedding anniversary gift of a 2003 40mm Platinum Yachtmaster, modded at the 20-year anniversary to include a custom navy blue face with some subtle diamond indices. A truly spectacular watch IMO, though I do have my eye on a Chopard Mille Miglia... lol!

Great thread BTW!

Hey chaps,

I am looking for ideas on where to buy my next watch. I have the hots for a Rolex explorer 2 black face in the new 42mm. Any good ideas where to buy. I might have a bit of coin to burn but I am still Scottish ;)

I assume you mean you want to know who's got the best prices?

Try Topper Jewelers. Try Alan Furman. Check the other major GMSes on the Internet.

As a general guideline, if you get better than 7% off, you are doing well. One thing worth doing, particularly for a Rolex, is considering a used one. If you've got a reputable seller in your town, I'd start there and haggle. Make sure they open the case and let you look at it with a loupe.

Regardless of what price you get, stipulate that it must include a current factory servicing. If you do come to an agreement with the seller of a used one, and you got the service negotiated in, that look you took with the loupe will tell you if the service was actually performed.

It may be that the seller offers to do the service themselves. That's okay as there are plenty of qualified folks who can service a Rolex movement. They aren't especially complex movements to begin with. If the seller does the servicing, you'll want to visually check yourself. If Rolex does the servicing, you'll want their documentation that resulted from the servicing.

I think you get the thrust of what I"m suggesting. Good luck.

All the best.
