Here's an interesting link:

http://www.wristwatchweblogs.com/index.php/2013/top-50-most-popular-watch-brands-of-2012/

Most popular brand in US and Europe: Rolex. Admittedly the list stops at 50 and there are literally thousands of brands. Remember, the list is about popularity. It doesn't have anything to do with specific watches. Indeed, there's not a brand listed that doesn't make at least one watch I like. And there are plenty of brands that make outstanding watches, for example, FP Journe or Lang and Heyne.

All the best.

No IWC voting option?!

Favourite watch I've had and regret selling it. Kept much better time than my Rolex ever has.

Cant really say which is my favorite but I always have 3 specific watches on the dresser for heavy rotation.

I did buy one invicta and their reuptation of being poor watches is deserved. Any product that gets sold on qvc is directed at a certain demographic that doesn't really fit.

Always loved the simple/sporty looks of a Tag

My current watch of choice

Guess so never seen most of those brands on there. I don't actually watch the channel they just have invicta hour and such listed on tv info. Strange how they can show episodes from several years ago also. How does that work. I did say I own one, just not a fan. 50 bucks wasn't really worth it.

so you personally bought a $50 watch and are openly complaining about it !?!?

makes perfect sense.....................

you should have just let your dad or brother punt you in the beanbag - woulda been the same thing as buying a $50 watch.....

What was wrong with it?

Also be honest - is it really the case that Invicta Rolex replicas (for example) are of "poor quality" (for the price) or is it just irritating to know that a replica watch that will probably fool 70%+ of the population costs ~$9000-$10000 less than the Rolex it imitates?

Personally if I cared about watches as a status symbol, I'd be annoyed. Obviously I don't care about watches as a status symbol, but I can see the rationale. If I was a genuine collector of all watches, I'd probably just collect everything - replicas and "originals" alike.

i have several low end watches that seem better quality. the higher end invictas come in circus freak 12 inch diameters that flavor flav could wear on his neck and/or sit off your wrist 6 inches. i guess i prefer a less look at me approach. my last purchase was a stowa marine and its beautiful and simple.

wow - next time don't try to be so detailed.....

something tells me you're just crawfishing on your comments with far from anything knowledgeable to say about "better quality".....

it's ok, i'll wait on you since you'll need time go do some research on google or find a website that may or may not prove your point without even mentioning the EXACT Invicta you say you once had, which is probably also a lie.....

could be both......I see it as a blue with a bit of purple in it......

case looks good, but I don't do leather straps.....

plus, I don't do small watches either -I'm a big dude with big hands and big forearms.

I need a 50mm or bigger.....

but, you get what you pay for, I guess....

The Invicta Men's Pro Diver is a replica of the $10,000 Rolex Submariner. Rolex has tried to sue (unsuccessfully) Invicta numerous times.

The Invicta gets rave reviews on Amazon -

http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-Diver-Collection-Automatic-Watch/dp/B0006AAS4M

But, a lot of hardcore Rolex fans don't like it because it looks exactly the same as their $10,000 watch, only it costs like $70. And a lot of unsuspecting people think the Invicta is a really expensive watch because the Rolex submariner is so popular and the Invicta looks exactly like the submariner (and tells time 99.9999% the same as well). So, the Invicta sometimes gets an unwarranted "prestige boost" by riding on the coattails of the submariner.

The thing is, if you're actually going to subject the watch to water, the Rolex probably performs better. But, most people I know with pro diver watches actually don't dive :D

that is kind of my issue with invicta the more you pay the uglier and bigger they get. i have both metal and leather but prefer leather as its more dressy and comfortable. my biggest watches are 47 i believe and think that is too large for the most part. 40ish is the sweet spot for me and even that is considered a large face until recently with the big watch fad.

And actually there might even be a recent replica that looks more like the submariner. There are subtle differences in design from the pictures posted above, but the overall theme is the same.

I saw it after I looked it up, I have to admit.

that watch has never been on my radar being a $70 watch, so I never saw it.

it's too small and plain for me, but I guess it's an ok watch...

and if that is the ONLY Invicta that is trying to be a Rolex, than that's good, because Invicta has tons of models in their collection, my favorite being the Bolt-Zeus, then the Venom, then the new Subaqua Noma V.

this Subaqua Noma V  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Invicta-Mens-Subaqua-Noma-V-Swiss-Made-Quartz-Chronograph-SS-Bracelet-New-Watch-/281264175479?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item417ca6b977
