I'm guessing the 520d would be with the LCI launch? The first 48V vehicle will be G30 520d, likely intro in 2020. This system will later expand to other G30/G31 models, and possibly even F90. The next likely candidate for 48V is G01/G02.
First news about the next (G87) M2: production 12/2022-03/2029, likely in Mexico.
Is that all M2 and 2 series made globally? Or just ones bound for the Americas? It would seem weird to ship 220d or whatever models from Mexico back to Europe.

Sir Loin wrotelmaoJason wroteThis is great! The wait time between build complete to delivery to the USA will be much shorter. No need to check R&R shipping companies' web sites and watch the ships travel across the ocean and canal on map web sites.Uhmm yeahttps://www.bimmerpost.com/?s=mexico
SCOTT26 wroteWhen will be the official debut of the G21?No G31 for the US Market.
Barathon wroteThey did go into production four weeks ago, but I'm not seeing the numbers I would normally expect for a brand new model that needs to go into a bunch of showrooms for presentation. So there could be something going on there.@ynguldyn Have you heard anything regarding the X3M/X4M SOP? I don't see them on your list (probably because they are now official). The posted order guides in their respective thread shows SOP as this month however, another user heard from some BMW execs that SOP was delayed.
ynguldyn wroteInteresting. My salesman was only able to get june production. Are the numbers that limited? Better question is - will they switch it in August to 2020 model year with new tech? Or will they leave m cars behind ?They did go into production four weeks ago, but I'm not seeing the numbers I would normally expect for a brand new model that needs to go into a bunch of showrooms for presentation. What about x3 m40? It is supposed to get new tech as of August. Will the enigine get new output of 382 hp like m340?
Ilyam5 wrotePretty sure that the X3M/X4M were never going to be considered a 2019 model year, so there would be no switch.Interesting. My salesman was only able to get june production. Barathon wroteHMM that's even worse than. We know they are being manufactured now with old tech. If no switch in August -it means x3M will stay behind the rest of x3 modelsPretty sure that the X3M/X4M were never going to be considered a 2019 model year, so there would be no switch.
- no I drive 7
- No Assistant drive Pro
- no remote start, etc.
joshuastein55 wroteYes, it will fill the void left by the recently departed 640i.Is an 840i planned for the states?
US product strategy:
1/2 family of products - B48 only (coupe excepted)
3/4 family of products - B48/B58/S58
5/6 family of products - B48/B58/N63/S63 (no B48 in SAVs)
7/8 family of products - B58/N63/S63 (N74 dies with the G12)
And before someone asks if there will be an M7 next generation - I have no idea. But they really should, right?

SCOTT26 wroteShame that BMW is leaving the wagon market in the US for Audi RS6 and Mercedes E63 to conquer. No G31 for the US Market.

joshuastein55 wroteI figure they'd have the same lineup as the 8 Series - an M7 with the S63 and the 750i would be renamed to M750i to replace the departed M760i.An M7 would be cool, although the grill would ruin it, but what engine would they use?
ynguldyn wroteSince June 29th 2017 until April 10th 2019: 78 X4M cars have been at least build. this is what I was able to find out by writing down the VIN code of the car showed to me last week. Unfortunnately, I reached the end of the sequence and I have no idea which VIN are applied on new ones currently been produced from April 11th. Driver's guide for X4M is online. They did go into production four weeks ago, but I'm not seeing the numbers I would normally expect for a brand new model that needs to go into a bunch of showrooms for presentation.
