There's a lot of talk about cheese (and it's making me hungry...) but I've long thought BMW do not do enough to segregate their top end models from their entry level models, especially since you can get 116d and 318d M sport trims (speed boats with canal boat engines) - it's about time something was done to signify the top of the range (M cars are different mechanically and cosmetically so can barely be called part of the range).
As someone who drives an M performance model and not an M I'd say it's far from cheese
