I find that really frustrating with BMW. A lot of the time I know more than they do.

I have a 45e so 3rd row is not available anyway.

I personally don't, but the family do and we often cart them about at weekends. Our current Range Rover manages it well, albeit with only 5 seats. |
It will probably depend on the age / length of your children. Mine are 9 and 10 and it is fine with fixed second row.
I have read in some treads here that is you need 7 seats frequently the x7 is better.
