The traditional way of buying a vehicle is to visit a number of dealerships, then negotiate to get the best price. Because many people find this time consuming and unpleasant, not to mention unsuccessful, alternative have been devised -
1. Fixed price dealers
2. Buying services
3. Brokers.
I would think that the advantage of buying from a dealer is that it establishes a relationship that may be beneficial when it comes time for service, with that dealer more willing to provide loner vehicles, etc.
The advantage to using a buying service, such as Costco, is that you can get a very good price without doing any work. People on this forum, and others, seem to report good discounts and general satisfaction.
That brings us to brokers. Since I have never used one I could speculate on the advantages, but since you are one, can you lay it out for me? Thanks.
