So just to close the loop on this...
I ended up shopping my Macan GTS build around the local Porsche dealers to compare discounts. One of them went ahead and ordered it without my knowledge, then reached out and said “Hey, that exact Macan you wanted? It’s here, come drive it.” Which was awesome, but then while I was there test driving the Macan I saw something that really caught my eye and wouldn’t let go.
So I ended up getting rid of the M550 and my M240 and taking home a
2020 911 Carrera 4S.
I am absolutely in love. I drive it at least an hour or two a day, no real destination. I know “purists” like to shit on the AWD, but I love the feeling of all four wheels grasping for traction on launch or corner exit. It has all the track options - Sport Chrono, rear axel steering, PDCC, etc so I’ll have to track it next Spring.
I hope to return to the BMW family in the future. Thank you BimmerPost community for all your help over the years!
