Update to previous post: It was operator error. I forgot to change the settings in the Bimmercode app to the adapter I was using. When I changed it to the CX adapter I was able to code the start stop function as well as the others that I wanted to code. I sent an apology to both OBD Link and Bimmercode telling them it was my error.

So, if you have an X5 and want to code it you can use the OBD Link CX adapter and an Android phone, including the One Plus 3T.
