On 11/8 I put a deposit on a 2022 X5 s40i that the dealer ordered. They told me there would not be a touchscreen and that the chip shortages would stretch into 2023. Dealer said delivery would be around Christmas. My car arrived at the dealer on Wednesday along with ~5 other X5s. I visited today and she is gorgeous. Black Sapphire Metallic, Shadowline Trim, and M Sport Red Caliper brakes. Dealer has not called to let me know she is here. That is concerning.

I don't really care about the touchscreen because I am used to the iDrive knob, but I don't want to lose $$ on resale or lose functionality if this is a short term issue. From what I am reading, I could decline this car and order a custom xDrive with same specs and upgraded seats and there is a good chance I would get a touchscreen. I don't know how long a custom build/order would take.

So hard to say no, when she is sitting on the lot waiting for me... I would appreciate your thoughts, advice, gut feelings, etc.
