BMW X5 Forum (G05) - View Single Post - Did this piece fall off my gas filler cap?

So I was getting gas yesterday and I ‘thought’ I heard something fall when I unscrewed the cap. Wasn’t sure. When I finished I found this gem on the floor. I couldn’t tell if it fit somewhere on the cap or not. Anyone know?! It’s an X5 M50i (2020).
