I wonder if they will elaborate on the rules in such a detail that it says: "in a sc situation xx laps prior to the end of the race fasten the cycling of the lapped cars"

Really, in the situation of abu dabi GP there is no real ideal scenario:
- call for a red flag is not at hand, the safety situation does not validate to suspend the race.
- finishing a deciding race under sc situation is not ideal, also not for the 2022 GP situation where Sainz and Norris will battle eachother for the win till last race...
- not cycling all the lapped cars in a sc situation is not following the rules and limits lower places that do not battle for the win.

So, being the only 3 possibilities the ones above, I'm not sure Masi picked the wrong one...
If Masi had the ability to alter the safety car protocol, he also had the ability to alter the red flag protocol. Masi cracked and simply started following the orders Redbull was feeding him over the radio. He should've put on a Redbull uniform because he was acting solely in the interest of that one team.

A race ending behind the SC is not ideal, but it's within the rules. Better to stay within the rules than damage the integrity of the sport and ruin an amazing season.
