What problems were you having?
My dealership recommended the same because the car wouldn’t charge with 240v.
I had no problem charging with 120v.
But I had more issues like electric motor shutting down when I’m accelerating beyond 40kph (~25mph), and drivetrain suddenly shutting down when stopped at a light while driving in hybrid mode etc.
I was always wondering about the cooling issue like the other posts because even when trickle charging via 120v, my car would run the fan like crazy under the hood.
