We haven't heard of any battery exploding because of that... yet. If you want to be extra careful, then by all means, take the car to any dealership and join the wait and BMW doesn't care movement.

I would think with the volume of data that cars produce these days — and let’s face it, this is a computer with wheels — they would know just about everything with fault codes?
