It does, but with one huge caveat. Only the Pixel 8 Pro has UWB capability. This is required for the phone to work like a regular key fob (i.e. leave it in your pocket/purse to unlock via CA and start the engine). The Pixel 8 (non-Pro) relies on NFC which means you have to hold it very close to the door handle to unlock, and then place it in the charging tray to start the engine. Way less convenient.
Google isn't real clear on this difference between the models...you have to dig around to get the details. Seems like a huge omission. All variants of recent iphones have UWB.
