As my focus is on the F97 X3M/F98 X4M sub-Forum I only have a few days’ experience with the new format as it just changed over the week.
Some early thoughts including the main one I mentioned earlier this morning (I have reviewed all 8 pages of this thread but apologies in advance if some of these have been clarified elsewhere in other new format threads):
1 – Hopefully the data I’ve compiled over the years in the OP of our ‘F97 X3M/F98 X4M Members’ Wheel & Tire Combinations and Weights’ hasn’t been lost and just needs re-configuring to allow for greater character number -
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showt...ns-and-weights .
2 – would like to bump
jsh139’s question, as to why individual posts are no longer being numbered within a thread? It doesn’t appear there is a simple method to reference one and/or link to it now?
3– curious as to reasoning for removing ‘Member join date’ and ‘Member location’ from the Member’s side bar Avatar and post/rep count? Although some chose not to share location, personally found these to be quite helpful as background info before even reading the post shared
4– wondering why the post time (even if just in UTC) was removed and we are left with only the date of a thread’s post? Not only does the time allow for referencing a specific post but also allows a better understanding of the flow of a thread’s discourse.
5– I frequently view my image download numbers to get a sense of what is of interest, and to then modify what and how I present images in the future – has that functionality now been removed (as I cannot find a way to access such now)?
6– Is it no longer possible to view if a Member is currently ‘online’ in the Forum as we used to have with the green left lower symbol in their prior posts? This was often helpful when trying to obtain a quick response and/or DM someone. Granted some may have remained ‘logged on’ and not actually been active but usually that wasn’t the case for me over the years.
Much appreciation to
apptest and others involved in trying to manage this huge transition (I don't have an IT or Web background, but this has to be a significant task). :-)
