Sorry, that's complete BS. This car's software is buggy. The infrastructure systems are buggy. And Apple ain't no angel either.
And by the way, if most people, including BMW CSRs and dealer staff, cannot "properly" configure a system to work, then that's a bug as well even if "as designed" — that's actually a worse kind of bug, one that is a software/system design defect, rather than just an implementation defect. UX matters. iDrive 7 is chock full of these.
