I saw tanzanite next to carbon black this weekend. In bright sun, the tanzanite is so much more dynamic and special looking. The metallic flake makes carbon black look dull. In dark or overcast lighting, though, I think they will look similar. Ill also say that the size of the X5 allows for more blue to come through with all the surface area. This color looks much darker on smaller sedans in my opinion. I actually think tanzanite will look really good with the Amarone/black interior, which I have yet to see in person. I’m not sure they have produced any yet.
