I always self insure as I don't want to deal with the headache of a BS lease end policy. That's close to $2,000 if your off by $55 per month. A set of OEM tires installed at Costco and having 2 rims buffed at end of lease costs me less than the lease end policy. I always factor in a new set of tires 6 months out from lease end as that's how a M car should be driven.

Yeah my math was just rough numbers. I'm sure our deals weren't completely the same. My msrp was closer to $128k. I got the lease protection for about $1500.
I usually mod my rides so if BMW complains bout any of my mods I'll have $6k at the end to play with.
My last 4 leases I've had about $3-$4k worth of wear charges so it's been handy.
