I don't think Leclerc will "crush" him straight out. Obviously with the rules staying relatively stagnant between 2020 and 2021, Leclerc will have an advantage of [insert amount of actual races in 2020 season here] races in the 2020 car, whereas Sainz will have to get used to it. Even then, I have a feeling, and hope that Sainz will be able to match Leclerc.

I think race pace will be easy for Sainz to match, but qualifying might take him some time to get used to the new limit of pushing.
