We have had the exact opposite experience with ours. Using both the cruise with steering/lane control and the hands-free Assisted Driving Plus it keeps the car fairly well centered in the lane with no real pingpong whatsoever. Everyone that has driven in the car has commented on how well the driving assistance works and that they would have never realized the vehicle was doing the steering and not me. I regularly use it at speeds over 80mph and it does an amazing job. The lane change assistant also does a good job of changing lanes by itself.
Could be a difference in cameras, software or settings. When was yours built, what version of iDrive software do you have and what is your setting for the lane keeping assist. Mine was a Jan build, I have .53 and set to medium.
