What gives BMW?

I checked and I can order an X5 with Tartufo extended merino leather in Canada (60-90 days deliver) but not in the USA.

Does anyone know why this would be the case? The reason I was given in the past for Tartufo not being available was that it was quality issue with the seats.

Has anyone bought a BMW in Canada for use in the USA?
