I think your plan sounds fine. I had an F15 X5 with all-seasons for the last 5-6 winters here in MN. I had absolutely no problems getting around. Would dedicated winter tires have better grip? Sure. But if you drive reasonably you will be just fine with all-season tires.

I liked the look of the 21 and 22 inch wheel choices for the G05, but ended going with the 20s because I didn't want the hassle of swapping out wheels and tires twice a year, and there are many more choices for tires of all kinds in the 20 inch size. Once my OE tires wear out, I'll probably switch to the non-runflat Continental DWS. I have the factory spare tire option.
