What does '... a highly variable luggage compartment' mean?
The problem with current car design is that the need for a swoopy sporty rear and an obsession with a 'flat loading bay' by journalists completely kills the height available in the boot.
Just tried an Alpina B5 Touring to see if we could move from 2 cars to one, but that has a tiny boot for an estate. So with a large dog who likes to sit up and look out, I expect that we are stuck with SUVs for a while.
I got a sofa in my old mondeo estate and closed the tailgate. Maybe I should look for that old 850 touring car. Now that had a boot.
