Here's what I found regarding USB labeling requirements.
https://usb.org/sites/default/files/...%20Session.pdf. Scroll down to page 15 where it shows the labeling requirements for USB 3.0 and above. So, in a nutshell, based on the labeling used on the USB ports in the BMW X5/X7 vehicles the ports are standard USB 2.0 or less. Definitely not 3.0 or above.
