I don't know about these two quick-replace champions, but I'm guessing there isn't a direct correlation between income and car buying/leasing decisions.

I know some well-healed people who are not "car guys" and get nice mid-priced transportation cars and keep them for years. I know other people who don't have big incomes but choose to spend what they do have on the latest and greatest cars. Most of them at least wait until their lease is up before switching, but not always. They just want something different and live under the "life's too short to not have that next shiny thing" philosophy.

It probably costs $10 to 30k to switch cars. Plus, car payments are much higher when you switch often because you are always at the highest point of the depreciation curve. Over the years, that adds up to a lot of money to drive the very latest all the time. For these guys, it's worth it.
