This seems like a simple lemon law case. In Florida, your car can only be in the shop for 30 days before they need to refund you. I would definitely go this route, read up on local lemon law, and make sure to get everything in writing. Seems open and shut to me.

I also had a check engine light come on with my X5 50e. Read it with my code reader and it made no sense-- something about the inverter on the 48V system. Dealer cleared it, tested it, drove the car for 40 miles, and said it should not come back. These things are way too complicated, and the software is not keeping up.
