These aren't games that you beat and put away. If that was the case, I'd say yes it's a huge waste of money. And believe it or not, playing these games have aided in improvements at the track. I've seen noticeable improvements in taking what I've learned at the track and practicing in simulation and vice versa. It's definitely no replacement for the real thing, but I enjoy the game so much more after having been to the track. They both seem to fuel each other. It is expensive and I won't argue that, but not nearly as expensive as some of the mods that go on our cars.
