Before I bought my M50i I was hoping the 40i would have had the M Performance exhaust available from BMW but it was announced after I pulled the trigger on the awesome M50i BUT with that said on my 2016 F15 X5 35i I had the dealer add the M Performance Exhaust and M Power kit (slight HP boost). Man the exhaust on that was so friggin awesome. It burbled alot, zero drone. downshifts had the crackling sound I love so much. I hate to admit but it sounded better than my M50i...ok not by much. But my M50i sound great at startup and in Sport plus it does have more burps and crackles but not enough imo.
