The car threw "chassis stabilization error" and "do not drive with trailer connected" warnings.
Drove a few miles - message persist.
Asked BMW to activate trailer mode and it said that this car is not equipped with such function.
I suspect some coding required after all? Maybe plugging a trailer would make it think it's all good? Hard to believe, but I'm hopeful 
Hardest part was removing fascia.
Overall took me all day (9 hours) with all manual tools and figuring out how to unlatch side panels on 3rows car. |

I do have 8SL option.
I think trailer mode needs to be coded after all.
