I might be in the minority here, but I do not find the multi-contour seats comfortable and think they have a major flaw.
I mainly drive my X5 on long road trips, and I just cannot find a position that is comfortable. The seat itself is fairly hard, and I just find myself having to make constant adjustments to the seating position throughout the drive, yet can never get comfortable.
On to the major flaw... I was so excited when I got the X5 that I could adjust the backrest of the seats for better shoulder support (as Paladin1 points out above). However, the most frustrating thing ever is that when you adjust the backrest forward for better shoulder support, it also moves the headrest forward too — and it is not possible to individually move the headrest backward independent of the backrest. So it's impossible to have good shoulder support while having your head tilted back, making long drives very uncomfortable. So dumb.
