Michs 4S come in 22" 285/315, but as you alluded to, the compound could be slightly different. Once my Contis wear out, I plan on running the 4S on my M50i, moving from 275 to 285 up front shouldn't be an issue.
Ohh it could be a large difference, you can't play around with the X drive. Do your research before you start switching tires. 285,30 275 30 are very different tires, your aspect ratio is percentage based not a flat number, each axle needs to be with in 1% -2% revs per mile of each other. Your 275 could be 712rp mile while your 285 are 670rp mile. The X will burn its self out, flat out break, constantly think your front wheels are slipping, screw with the handling characteristics. BMW didn't just slap on 275s because it was an arbitrary number and make their own special tire compound with the manufacturer
