According to BMWFS no dealer is under an obligation to take your turn in except your originating dealer.
The 45 MPG I get in my 330e, plus a night in a La Quinta is a lot cheaper than the rack rate for a pair of one-way airline tickets to Greenville. Plus, I get the pleasure of my wife's company for 10 hours. Sounds like it would be best to contact a dealer in advance. Since my route takes me thru Atlanta, I probably won't have much difficulty finding a dealership willing to take the car.
