It COULD be argued that if the sanctuary cities were to remove the illegal, there would be less pressure for housing, and then rents might come down. Right now I think the recent study that lead to the bill to cap rent increases to 5% listed vacancy rates of 4% or less.

A recent news item on the LA station showed the least expensive home somewhere in the Bay Area just crossed into 7 digits, and it's well under 1000'sq
