Interesting choice.
FWIW, a vendor (not **********s) that carries AFE intakes told me that the closed system likely produces less hp than the open intakes but is less prone to heat soak.
Of course, I've never understood how an air filter has enough thermal mass/density to suffer from heat soak.
And, as previously discussed, the additional heat produced by an intake charge that includes heated air from the engine compartment is probably extremely small and may, in fact, be completely offset by the increased efficiency of turbochargers that work less hard to suck in air.
