Of course, I've never understood how an air filter has enough thermal mass/density to suffer from heat soak.
And, as previously discussed, the additional heat produced by an intake charge that includes heated air from the engine compartment is probably extremely small and may, in fact, be completely offset by the increased efficiency of turbochargers that work less hard to suck in air.

It's more of the rising engine heat the open cones should worry about, not heat soak.
The closed AFE intake can better deal with the type of heat mentioned above.
