Literally one of the easiest mods I've ever done. Not a single scratch on the old volume button if I ever need to use it again.

I agree. Though the interior is mostly hollow, drilling in the wrong spot or one tiny slip of the hand will cause permanent damage.
I guess it just depends how comfortable you are with it. To be fair, I had resigned to drilling as a last resort option but screwdriver method worked perfectly so no need for the drill.
Plus this way, I have the volume button should I ever need it. Can't imagine why but better to have it and not need it than to not have it
