I worked for them.
The first sign was the fact that when patients were asked to return their study medications because the drop in BP was below target, they refused to comply. After asking a few non-compliant study participants (with regard to returning the medication) why not...the "adverse event" was uncovered (so to speak). They threw together a study, presented it to the agency and in about a year, penile tumescence was back on the table for millions!! Thanks Bill Steere!!
The most fun I had as a rep was when the presentation language was changed from something rather banal to, "...completely hard, fully rigid erection sufficient for initiation of the sex act to completion."
When they unveiled this some of the more tender lambs from the south, turned beet red and the, at first giggling then transforming to people dying on the floor laughing. And the videotaped practice sessions, if found, could be a made into a comedic movie!!
