Recently I went from F15 40e, to 640GT, and now G05 M50i. Wife went from Cayenne E-Hybrid, E Class Wagon, and now GLE 580. In my opinion, these are two different vehicles, that appeal to different types of drivers. In deciding, we drove the GLE 450 and X5 4.0i, the Benz felt floaty, and not tuned for a sporty driving experience as the BMW.
