The year is pretty moot and flawed in a controlled statistic. Older vehicles will be more prone to failure. The car is older, the plastic is older, it's gone through more heat cycles and becomes more brittle.
These charge pipes fail even on 2015's. Just replace it if you want to avoid the issue.
