I'd recommend using the Bimmercode app on your iPhone/Android. Its simple and quick and you can do it yourself. No coding knowledge required, just tap a couple buttons. And you can re-do it if the setting gets turned back on by the dealer during maintenance.
I did it in about 3 mins...well worth the ~$60 for the app + the OBD2 adapter.
