Now my car is due for service and the agent wants to update the iDrive (currently on 03/2019.35) and he warned me that I will lose Carplay by this update because BMW has made Carplay as part of ConnectedDrive and I will not be able to have it any more.
My question if there is any way to reactivate the Carplay after the iDrive update? And if it would be helpful to deactivate the ConnectedDrive through Esys to force the car to enable the Carplay and create driver profile? Need your help please.
Hi I guess your car is from Abu Dhabi dealer? From what I know Abu Dhabi dealer doesnt have agreement to use connected drive (no internet or apps) but dubai does, now mine after 03/2020 update my apps were removed (had news, weather, and soms other), maps were renwed and now I see more details in instrument cluster map, as for connected drive its strange that Apple carplay was taken out from you, cause its part of car specs when you buy it, so just contact them and try to get it installed for you they should bring it back, as for.coding I heard so far that it voids warranty in our region, you can double check because I know it shouldnt but thats what 3 series owner told me that agent wont accept coding.....
