I own an I8 since it came out and am still very much enjoy the hybrid tech. It works as intended, it takes a bit getting used to it and figuring out driving modes.
I also suggest charging the car every time you can at home - the 110V charger will replenish the entire battery overnight. It will increase the battery longevity and you will also have max power when you leave the following day.
